Meet Our Team
Dr Tammie Hisatake-Bumgardner, DVM
Dr. Tammie has been a veterinarian for 34 years; after getting her doctorate at Colorado State University, she moved to Arizona where she practiced privately. During her time in Arizona, she worked as an employee and also as the owner operator of a private small animal practice. In 2005, she moved to Eubank, Kentucky and opened Buck Creek Animal Clinic in 2006. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, playing virtual reality and crafting.
Erica- Vet Assistant
Erica has been with us for over a decade. She is a Eubank Kentucky native who previously worked in human medicine before coming into the veterinary field. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She brings a family feel to the clinic and clients have come to recognize her as one of the mainstays of our practice.
Lindsey- Vet Assistant
Lindsey is a Connecticut native who moved to Kentucky in 2022. She has been at Buck Creek Animal Clinic for over 2 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her corgi, Hazel, riding and training horses and spending time with family.
Kelsie- Vet Assistant
Kelsie has been with us for a few months. Although she is our newest employee she is learning and adapting quickly to the pace of the clinic. She enjoys spending time with her cats, buying new plants and caring for the hundreds of plants she already has, and crafting.
Hazel- Door Greeter
Hazel is a 4-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She started at Buck Creek Animal Clinic in 2025. She is the official greeter of the clinic and holds the title proudly. When she is not working, she enjoys long naps, going to the barn to eat horse nuggets and swimming at the creek.
Takara - To Be Determined
Takara, a juvenile Standard Poodle, is the newest fashionista at BCAC. She enjoys harassing Hazel throughout the workday, playing "center" with clients and going outside every 5 minutes. She is beautiful...and that keeps her alive on the days she misbehaves!
Kobi- Security
Kobi, an 8-year-old toy poodle, is the voice of the clinic, literally. Anyone start their day off screaming? Kobi does. Every car to pull up and client to walk in, isn't getting past Kobi. In her spare time, she enjoys playing ball and getting food she shouldn't from her grammy. She will do anything for a chimkin stick.
Buck - BS, MS, PhD (you will have to ask him
Another character you will meet at Buck Creek Animal Clinic is Dr. Tammie's husband Buck Bumgardner. He is our resident chocolate, bourbon and wine aficionado. He often drops by to "supervise" everything and to offer "advice". He is a member of the local Freemason's lodge and is an expert at outdoor cooking - including grilling, smoking and barbecuing! He is a diehard German Shepherd fan but sleeps with a toy poodle.
Kenny- Summer Intern
Kenny has spent two summers with us at Buck Creek Animal Clinic. He is a pre-vet student at Murray State University. In his free time, he enjoys working on his grandfather's farm and reading. He hopes to do both large and small animal medicine after he graduates.
